Westgate Oxford unveils 10 new restaurant and retail brands

April 24, 2017

The Westgate Oxford Alliance is today marking the six-month countdown to the opening of its £440 million Westgate Oxford development by unveiling four new foodie favourites and six new retail brands – further establishing the city of Oxford as the UK’s next premium fashion and food destination.

Today’s milestone sees Westgate Oxford’s increasingly stellar leisure mix strengthened further by the addition of Shawa Lebanese Grill, Rola Wala Benito’s Hat and Nando’s. To complement Westgate Oxford’’s vibrant collection of foodie destinations, new retailers Levi’s, Skechers, Acuitis, Cath Kidston, Seasalt Cornwall and Molton Brown London are also announced today.

Westgate Oxford, advised by leisure property specialists Davis Coffer Lyons, will have the city’s first public roof garden where unique cocktail creations and a variety of culinary names, including The Breakfast Club, Sticks’n’Sushi and Pho, will set the scene for spectacular views of the city’’s famous dreaming spires and rolling Oxfordshire countryside.

Anchored by a 140,000 sq. ft. John Lewis, the 800,000 sq. ft. Westgate Oxford will enjoy a prime location in the heart of Oxford’s city centre. This iconic and much-loved British city is undergoing a complete transformation with Westgate Oxford at its heart – attracting a high number of aspirational brands who want to capture the expected retail spend of over £1bn by the 15 million people that will visit Westgate Oxford each year.

Naomi Howard, Leasing Director at Land Securities said: “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey to create one of the UK’’s largest and most highly anticipated retail and leisure destinations to open this year. In exactly six months, we will open our doors to the public, bringing them a vibrant blend of luxury and high street retail stores to be explored, alongside some of the most exciting food and drink brands the region will have to offer. We are thrilled to announce today’s new signings – who will be joined by more new names in the coming weeks.”

The new signings announced today join an impressive leisure offer, including boutique cinema chain Curzon Cinemas and restaurants, Polpo, Cinnamon Kitchen and gourmet American diner, Dirty Bones – the brand’s first outside London. These brands will sit alongside an ever-growing line up of premium and high street favourites at Westgate Oxford, including Mint Velvet, Smashbox, Gant, Hotel Chocolat, Guess, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, COS, & Other Stories, Russell & Bromley and Victoria’s Secret Pink. The full brand line up can be seen in the notes to editors.

Russell Norman, co-owner of POLPO said: “Oxford is a wonderful city full of culture, beautiful architecture and history. We’re so lucky to have found such a central spot through Westgate Oxford, tucked amongst the historic castle and towering spires. We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome the city in for some good food, good wine, old-school hospitality and of course a Venetian Spritz or two!”
