Anchors Away for the Crown & Anchor in Brixton

August 3, 2011

Leisure advisors Davis Coffer Lyons has sold the freehold interest of The Crown & Anchor public house in South West London on behalf of Conway Taverns to a London-based property company off an asking price of £550,000 with vacant possession.

The four-storey public house, occupying a prominent position on Brixton Road between Brixton, Stockwell and Oval, is an end of terrace property, which formerly traded on the ground floor. There is a first floor two-bedroom manager’s flat and additional upper floors which offer further development potential to the new owner subject to planning. The property, including basement, extends to approximately 5,462 sq ft.

Chris Bickle of Davis Coffer Lyons says, “This 100% wet-led public house attracted a great deal of interest from local businesses as well as further afield. It is a striking building which was run under management and operating as a traditional local. The property possesses great floor space with many original features and we understand the new purchasers intend to continue to trade the pub business and develop the upper floors.”
