Broadgate Welcomes Exclusive ‘Street Kitchen’

June 14, 2011

Broadgate, situated in the City of London, owned by British Land and Blackstone, welcomes a completely unique concept, ‘Street Kitchen’. This is a new generation of ‘mobiler’, designed specifically to offer bistro-style take away food of restaurant quality, for people on the move over the summer.

Street Kitchen, created by Jun Tanaka, Michelin-trained executive chef at Pearl Restaurant & bar, and Mark Jankel, chef and founder of The Food Initiative, will be located in Broadgate’s Finsbury Avenue Square from 27 June 2011.

Street Kitchen’s vintage Airstream is a new concept and will offer good value lunches to City workers. Daily menus will feature delicious and fresh seasonal produce from sustainable, organic farms and producers in the UK, with prices ranging from £4.50 to £7.50.

Alice Keown, Davis Coffer Lyons, restaurant leasing agent for Broadgate said: “Street Kitchen, in conjunction with the popular fortnightly farmers market, demonstrates the evolution of the catering offer at Broadgate, and follows the opening of the highly successful White Horse gastro-pub last year. Street Kitchen will be a strong addition to Finsbury Avenue Square, offering people working at Broadgate and in the surrounding a unique ‘restaurant quality’ product throughout the summer.”

Matthew Pinsent, Head of City Office Asset Management for British Land, added: “We are creating a more varied catering offer at Broadgate and Finsbury Avenue Square provides the perfect location for this style of street food, with outdoor seating nearby.”
