Cabana to Open 3rd Restaurant at Westfield London

September 3, 2012

Cabana, the Brazilian barbecue restaurant brand by Jamie Barber and David Ponté, is to open its third site at Westfield London in a deal brokered by leisure property advisors Davis Coffer Lyons.

The new restaurant will take on the former Del’Aziz site on the Southern Terrace at the shopping centre in West London and will open at the end of October. The restaurant has a capacity of 140-covers, including an outdoor terrace, and will be inspired by the favelas of Sao Paolo, featuring Brazilian posters and denim banquettes.

Deli concept, Del’Aziz, which operates a further five sites in Fulham, Swiss Cottage, Clapham, Bermondsey and Bankside, is now looking to expand into a new London locations with larger format of restaurant similar to their newest site in Clapham.

Barber told Caterer and Hotelkeeper the third opening marked Cabana’s continued expansion. “I’m pleased to open at Westfield London, just a few doors down from Kitchen Italia, which I launched and then sold. It’s a return to White City and now we have restaurants at both Westfield centres,” he said. “It’s no secret that we’d like to have about four or five restaurants so we are looking for more sites. While this one is inspired by Sao Paolo, future restaurants may take inspiration from Rio de Janeiro or the other states like Bahia or Para. We don’t want to be a chain of identical restaurants.”

Cabana’s existing sites are located at the Central St Giles development in the West End, and at Westfield Stratford City.
