October 8, 2015

Gerry Calabrese has acquired the license of the former laundry building – opposite London Fields Brewery for his latest concept Wringer & Mangle. Davis Coffer Lyons – the leisure specialists – completed the deal on behalf of the site previous owner Laundry Building ltd at a license fee of £125,000 pa.

Wringer & Mangle, which opens at end of October, is a new 250-cover bar and restaurant. It will feature an expansive all-weather terrace, an inventive drinks menu offering variations on the classic “Collins” cocktail as well as a series of art exhibitions.

Calabrese founded the acclaimed Hoxton Pony in Shoreditch in 2008 and launched his own award-winning Hoxton Gin in 2011. In 2013, he opened the cabaret-themed bar, Baroque, in Mayfair. He has also consulted on a number of major global drinks companies.

Jonathan Moradoff, Director at Davis Coffer Lyons said: “London Fields is one of the Capital’s most exciting up-and-coming area and increasingly new operators are opening and establishing it as a drinking and dining destination. Wringer & Mangle is the latest cool new concept to have chosen to launch in the area and we have no doubt with Gerry’s expertise it will become a great destination venue.”
