July 18, 2012

The team behind the Craft Beer Co brand, recently ranked as the world’s 4th best bar* are taking their concept to Brixton.

The Craft Beer Co. which was born in London’s Clerkenwell last year, opened their second site in June, in Brighton, followed quickly by this showpiece Brixton venue.

The site previously known as The Hive on Station Road, Brixton will re-open under the Craft Beer Co banner in mid September.

Commenting, owner, Martin Hayes said: “This is great site, one we are proud to have secured despite interest from a number of other high-profile bidders, testimony I believe to the strength of the brand and covenant it carries with it.” Adding: “The business is growing quickly and we intend to keep the pace up, that’s based on finding the right sites in the right areas, on the right terms. We’re on a fantastic journey and the level consumer buy-in for the concept is staggering”.

The deal was handled by Davis Coffer Lyons.

Chris Bickle, Associate Director at Davis Coffer Lyons, said, “’Brixton’s profile is drawing interest from all kinds of excellent independent food and drink operators and Craft Beer Co’s lease deal is testament to that. The Hive is in a great location close to Brixton Village and the tube and on an additional property level, is an attractive site as well. This will be an exciting addition to the area.”
