DCL Acquires GBK Site in Beckenham for New Steak Concept

Leisure property advisor Davis Coffer Lyons has completed a deal in Beckenham, Kent on behalf of Reif Remzi, to acquire the former Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) on Beckenham High Street, BR3, for a new fast-casual concept, Branded: Steak and Burger.

Reif Remzi, son of Olgun Remzi, the owner of Miso Limited, which currently trades as Miso and Pier 1 across ten units. Reif Remzi has acquired the leasehold interest of the ground floor unit, comprising 1,500 sq ft. Davis Coffer Lyons has sub let the remainder of the 22 year lease, due to expire in June 2032 at a passing rent of £62,000 per annum exclusive. The site will begin trading in April 2012.

Miso already operates nearby on Beckenham High Street, as well as in Bromley, Islington, and two in Croydon. Its newest site in Richmond will open in April 2012. The group appointed Davis Coffer Lyons in 2010 to dispose of three Miso sites as part of a strategy to consolidate its portfolio and expand into other regions.

GBK, the fast-casual burger brand which was acquired by Nando’s Group in 2010, announced at the end of 2011 that it plans to revamp its UK estate over the next five years.
