DCL Finds Buyers for Last 2 Butcher & Barrel Pubs

July 11, 2013

DCL – the leisure specialists – has found buyers for last two former Butcher and Barrel pubs. The Ravensbury Arms in Mitcham and the George Shillibeer in Islington came onto the market after the company entered administration earlier this year (March 2013).

The attractive two storey Ravensbury Arms has been purchased by Raj Patel from Funky Brownz for £55,000. Located in a prominent position on the edge of Mitcham Golf Course, the 7,000 sq ft public house has a substantial beer garden with ample car parking space as well as seven staff bedrooms – one with an en-suite bathroom – and a Manager’s Office.

Meanwhile, Christian Arden has purchased the George Shillibeer from Matterhorn Capital for an undisclosed sum. The 5,000 sq ft former warehouse is located beneath the Pleasance Theatre and boasts large open plan trading areas across four levels. A stone’s throw from Caledonian Road Underground Station the pub also benefits from ample outdoor seating.

Charlotte Wild, of DCL said: “Both these pubs have continued to trade successfully since Butcher and Barrel went into administration. Their size, extensive outdoor space and prominent well-connected locations made them highly appealing to pub operators. It is therefore no surprise that we have been able to successfully find buyers for them both.”
