DCL Leasing New Eat Central at Westfield’s Friary Centre

July 26, 2011

Leisure specialist Davis Coffer Lyons is leasing a stylish new shared dining experience – Eat Central – to be unveiled at Westfield’s Friary Centre in Guildford in November 2011.

The town centre scheme, which already benefits from an annual footfall of 9 million, is undergoing a multi-million refurbishment, including the creation of five new large stores to be occupied by retailers such as Topshop, Hollister and River Island as well as bringing a host of other new retailers to the affluent town.

Eat Central incorporates seven new units ranging from 500 to 700 sq ft, with 500 shared seats. The majority are under offer to an exciting range of international cuisines, including Chinese, Japanese, Italian and Middle Eastern, and complementary operations are being sourced to complete the line-up.

Kate Taylor, Davis Coffer Lyons, said: “Eat Central is the modern food court format pioneered by Westfield; a vibrant, contemporary space with shared seating that is home to a mix of international and local cuisines, offering quick-service food in a restaurant-quality environment. Due to the affluent catchment, the intention is to create a mix of operations which are “fast casual” in tone, as opposed to fast food, providing an offer not just for the centre’s shoppers but also creating a key lunchtime destination for the town’s thriving office population”.
