DCL Secures 5 Temporary Lettings as Broadgate Development Gets Underway

July 17, 2013

As the installation of the hoardings around Broadgate Circle in The City of London begins, DCL – the leisure specialists – has relocated five of the existing tenants into temporary units in the adjoining One Broadgate building.

The main entrance to One Broadgate – which is primarily occupied by ICAP – will be flanked by two new coffee shops. Beany Green – a firm favourite at the Capital’s street markets – has found its first permanent home in an 80 sq ft kiosk. It will serve the finest Monmouth Coffee with Jersey Milk from Somerset and a small, high-quality selection of cakes and snacks. Popular national coffee shop brand AMT will operate from a 80sq ft kiosk providing 100% Fairtrade coffee and organic milk as well as a selection of snacks and nibbles.

The other three operators will be located along the eastern side of the building – facing Liverpool St station entrance. A 350 sq ft Eat, fitted out in its new branding, with its traditional range of sandwiches, salads, soups and hot drinks; a Arancini Brothers will serve its delicious deep fried risotto balls as well as salads, stews and wraps from a 140 sq ft unit; and Wrap It Up with its gourmet wraps from around the world in a new 160 sq ft unit.

DCL has been appointed by British Land and Blackstone as the sole food retail and leisure agency on the project, which will create 50,000 sq ft of leisure space in the heart of the Square Mile. The scheme is due for completion in Spring 2015.

Alice Keown, Associate Director at Davis Coffer Lyons commented: “Broadgate is such an exciting development and we are thrilled to have been appointed as the sole leisure agent for the scheme. With a project of this timescale, we knew it was important that the area’s many workers still have a selection of breakfast and lunchtime options while the work is being carried out. We are delighted to have achieved this by finding new homes for these exciting operators.”
