Exhibition Road Project Signs Comptoir Libanais

Leisure advisor Davis Coffer Lyons has signed Comptoir Libanais, the Lebanese canteen and delicatessen, to South Kensington Estates (SKE)s South Kensington holdings.
The new A3 unit comprises 1,800 sq ft over ground floor and basement, and is located at 1-5 Exhibition Road, at the south end of the thoroughfare which stretches from Hyde Park to South Kensington.
Comptoir Libanais, which offers vibrant Middle Eastern menu with a strong emphasis on the use of healthy and organic ingredients, will open the new site in October 2011.
Founder and owner, Tony Kitous, the man behind the Middle Eastern cuisines of Levant, Pasha and Kenza, launched Comptoir Libanais, meaning Lebanese Counter, in 2009 at Westfield London and opened its first stand alone unit on Wigmore Street in 2009. The operator is also secured to open another site at Westfield Stratford City in September.
Exhibition Road has recently undergone significant improvement works to public realm in the area, as part of 2012s legacy plans to include redesign and pedestrianisation. The area is a major destination within Londons cultural quarter which attracts over 11 million visitors each year and is home to some of the most important attractions in the country, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and Imperial College London.
Kate Taylor, Davis Coffer Lyons, said: This latest letting builds on an already impressive line-up of restaurants and cafés including Casa Brindisa and Le Pain Quotidien, strengthened as an eating and drinking destination by the recent public realm improvements at the south end of Exhibition Road which have created a continental, piazza style environment for al fresco dining. As a result, the landlord received an enormous level of interest for this site but felt that the unique offering of Comptoir Libanais would be a fantastic compliment to the area.
Davis Coffer Lyons represented the landlord, South Kensington Estates, a privately owned property investment company which manages its own portfolio in South Kensington and Brompton, London.
South Kensington Estates is also performing works to its restaurant unit at 10 -12 Exhibition Road, which will shortly be available to the market to let. www.ske.org
