Global Chain Fratelli La Bufala Makes UK Debut

March 27, 2012

Davis Coffer Lyons’ Agency team has completed the leasehold sale of 40 Shaftesbury Avenue near London’s Piccadilly Circus to Italian restaurant concept, Fratelli la Bufala, on behalf of landlords Criterion Capital. The new restaurant opens its doors today, 27 March.

This is the first UK site for the international chain, which already operates across Spain, Germany, Turkey, Brussels and Miami, as well as more than 100 sites in Italy.

Fratelli la Bufala has taken 3,500 sq ft, ground and first floor site, connected to London’s Trocodero, on a new 25 year lease at a passing rent of £415,000 per annum exclusive inclusive of service charge. The site was formerly trading as fashion retailer Apricot.

Jonathan Moradoff, Associate Director at Davis Coffer Lyons, said, “Any leisure operator would be hard pressed to find a location with a better footfall than that of Shaftesbury Avenue in London’s Theatre and Entertainment District. The site has extensive frontage to Shaftesbury Avenue, London’s Trocadero Centre and a moment away from Piccadilly Circus towards Leicester Square, making it the perfect location for Fratelli la Bufala’s UK debut.”

Fratelli la Bufala is centred on Italian cuisine from the Campania region of Italy, especially buffalo mozzarella, buffalo meat, Campania wines, traditional Neapolitan pizza, and organic farming products.
