Nando’s come home to roost at Gatwick Airport

November 14, 2013

Responding to the challenge ‘Changing Gatwick ‘, DCL – the leisure specialists – is delighted to have acted on behalf of Gatwick Airport in securing Nando’s its first airport site.

The 5,900 sq ft, 200-cover restaurant will be company run and not via a franchise arrangement. It will open in South Terminal in Summer 2014 and operate between 4am and 12am. Nando’s was specifically targeted as a well loved brand with an offer that well suits the passenger profile for the terminal. They also understand volume and truly has the ability to trade all-day when compared with some other concepts.

This is the latest in a string of lettings that DCL has secured at Gatwick including Jamie’s Italian and Comptoir Libanais.

Tracey Mills, Director at Davis Coffer Lyons commented: “From the customer feedback we knew that there was an appetite for Nando’s to open at Gatwick. We worked closely with both the airport to identify the optimum unit for the operation and subsequently Nando’s to work through the complexities of running an airside restaurant. We look forward to it opening next year and satisfying the many hungry travellers who requested it.”
