February 1, 2013

Davis Coffer Lyons has completed the leasehold sale of 33 Dean Street to new Brazilian street food concept, Galeto. Galeto has taken a new lease at the former Il Siciliano unit comprising 2,045 sq ft at a rent of £120,000 per annum exclusive.

After three years of planning, Leo Alexander, formerly of Kettners and restaurateur and chef Antonio Romani are set to launch their new concept in March.

Galeto, which is Brazilian for “little chicken” will serve authentic food taken from the streets of Rio, a selection of grilled specialities complemented by salads and tapas style of small bites typical of the region.

The house speciality Galeto will be a marinated half chicken, grilled to perfection and served with two sides and sauces including Tropical Fruit barbeque, Mango & Lime, Hot and Spicy Coriander and Garlic Cream.

There is also great selection of meat on offer including Antonio’s special Picanha burger made with only premium rump cut diced beef.

All the cooking will be on view in the 60 cover venue with Robata wood burning grills and the drinks menu will range from South American beers to classic cachaca and caipirinha cocktails.

The final brand design work, look and feel and interior specifications are all approaching completion with Galeto set to open in April.

Leo and Antonio have worked together for a number of years on a series of operations and come back to London from launching and establishing a successful Italian inspired restaurant in Surrey earlier this year.
