June 30, 2011

On behalf of Shaftesbury plc, Davis Coffer Lyons has completed a new letting on Kingly Street, off Carnaby Street in London’s West End, to Fornata, a new diffusion brand from the owners of the renowned Babbo in Mayfair. The space in total comprises some 1,970 sq ft over ground floor and basement.

Babbo was recently awarded Tatler Italian ‘Restaurant of the Year ‘, and Zagat’s Best Italian Restaurant of 2010.

Tracey Mills, Director of Development Leasing and London Estates for Davis Coffer Lyons, said, “A deal was effected in which a new lease was re-geared with the landlord carrying out enabling works to improve the unit.

“Our client, Shaftesbury, is delighted with the addition to the Estate, which will enhance the changing face of Kingly Street in addition to the public realm and road calming works which have recently been undertaken.”

The new restaurant is anticipated to open later in the year and will join Wright Bros and Dehesa in the immediate vicinity. Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of Shaftesbury Plc and Paul Gilligan on behalf of Fornata.
