Pix Pinxto Bar Pins Third Site in Soho

March 23, 2011

Late night Spanish pinxto bar, Pix, is to open its third London premises in the West End.

A new lease as secured by leisure advisor Davis Coffer Lyons on Bateman Street in Soho, formerly occupied by Korean restaurant, Jin, on behalf of Millbeck Properties.

The property comprises 1,470 sq ft over ground and basement floors, and was agreed at a rental price of £85,000 per annum exclusive, close to popular Soho offerings Quo Vadis, Dean Street Townhouse, Arbutus, and the world famous Ronnie Scotts.

Pix, the brainchild of owner and manager John Thornhill, offers a range of Catalan pintxos inspired by those found in Barcelona, accompanied by a range of Spanish wines, beers and cocktails. The chain has already enjoyed tremendous success since its first opening at Notting Hill’s former Tea Palace site in September 2009, and more recently on Covent Garden’s Neal Street.

Rob Meadows from Davis Coffer Lyons, said: “The casual dining market in the West End is moving fast, especially for premises where more than 50 covers can be created. Operators such as Pix offer a versatile concept and product which can cater to an all-day market. They have proven themselves in busy locations and are fairing extremely well in the current market. We are seeing an increasing number of landlords seeking these kinds of operators meaning covenant is not always the chief concern in this market.”
