Pizza Express Secures New Site in Epping

Leisure property advisors Davis Coffer Lyons has assigned the leasehold interest of 212 Epping High Street, a former retail unit in Epping, Essex, to Pizza Express.

The 400-strong chain owned by Gondola Holdings has taken the 400-year old building after an A3 licence was secured from Epping district council.

A new 25 year lease was secured through Davis Coffer Lyons’ Paul Tallentyre, who acted on behalf of the vendors, Edgewest Epping Limited. Richard Simmons acted on behalf of the incoming tenant. Ian Scott international also advised.

In 2011, Pizza Express, underwent the biggest brand makeover in its company’s 46-year history in homage to its ‘pizzaiolos’ and their striped shirts. In a bid to improve its service standards, the group retrained 10,000 team members to deliver ‘memorable experiences’ for its diners, with a focus on allowing their personalities to shine through and creating their own guidelines on what depicts great service.
