Polpetto Finds New Home on Berwick Street

July 9, 2013

Berwick Street, in the heart of Soho, is to become the new home of popular restaurant Polpetto after leisure specialist DCL secured a letting to Russell Norman and Richard Beatty on behalf of Shaftesbury PLC.

The new 70 seat restaurant, complete with an aperitivo bar and open kitchen will again see Florence Knight – head chef of the original Polpetto – serving her unique brand of meticulous seasonality and simplicity.

Berwick Street is a vibrant and diverse neighbourhood with a rich heritage. It boasts an exciting array of independent vinyl shops, traditional London pubs, bespoke tailoring, textiles, vintage, food and fashion. It is also home to one of London’s oldest markets, which is shortly due to undergo major improvements in conjunction with the redevelopment of the western side of the street.

Emma Flather of DCL said: “I am thrilled that Polpetto is reopening and for Russell and Richard to have chosen Berwick Street shows how established it is becoming as a dining destination in its own right. We are currently finalising another exciting letting on the same street, which we hope to be able to announce shortly.”

Polpetto previously occupied the first floor of the French House pub on Dean Street for two years and attracted critical acclaim but the venue proved too small and the restaurant’s 23 seats were always oversubscribed.
