Tasty Takes First City Site for Wildwood in Canary Wood

April 7, 2011

UK Restaurant operator Tasty plc, trading as Wildwood bar and restaurant chain has secured its first City outlet in Canary Wharf.

Tasty plc, whose burgeoning pizza and pasta concept has taken 3,100 sq ft at London’s Jubilee Place, E14. The unit, formerly trading as Indian restaurant Tiffinbites, was surrendered back to the landlords for a significant six figure sum and a new simultaneous 15 year lease was granted.

Tasty plc has recently reported a positive trading performance and is looking to further expand its restaurant network, with Wildwood one of its core brands for future growth. Canary Wharf marks the ninth unit for Tasty’s Wildwood, in addition to Billericay, Chelmsford, Cobham, Gerrards Cross, Gloucester Road, Hornchurch, Loughton, and Maidstone. The Wildwood concept is based upon a medley of freshly grilled food, pastas and stone-baked pizzas. The group also owns the oriental chain Dim T.

Brandon Elmon, at Davis Coffer Lyons who brokered the deal commented “It is not easy for groups like this at the moment to find key sites in many London areas but a number of private mid-market restaurant companies like Wildwood in particular are continuing to expand aggressively in 2011 against a continual influx of new concepts looking for space.”
