The Balvernie Opens The Whisky Den in Covent Garden

May 9, 2011

Opening to the public on Monday 9 May for a total of four weeks until 5 June, The Whisky Den is a new pop-up bar and exhibition space from The Balvenie distillery, secured through Davis Coffer Lyons for Shaftesbury on Tavistock Street at The Opera Quarter in Covent Garden.

Visitors have free entry and the exclusive opportunity to witness rare crafts in motion and to sample The Balvenie, and in turn learn how the five rare crafts retained at The Balvenie distillery contribute to its honeyed sweet taste. A series of tutored whisky tastings will take place every Saturday.

Guests will be able to navigate their way from room to room, as if they were inside a giant whisky tun. There will also be unusual features, including seats which ‘grow’ out of the walls and indoor fields of barley, with each space offering a unique character and charm, reflective of the individual characteristics of each whisky in The Balvenie range.

The Whisky Den is open daily from 1pm-8pm.
