Popular eastern Mediterranean restaurant chain The Real Greek is to open its first outlet outside of London after DCL – the leisure specialists – secured a letting on the former La Taverna restaurant on River Street in the centre of Windsor.

The Real Greek Food Company has taken a fifteen year lease on the 3,600 sq ft unit – located over three floors – at a rent of £65,000 per annum. It will serve its exciting range of traditional hot and cold Mezes sharing platters, Souvlaki – Greek wraps – as well as a selection of salads and pitta sandwiches.

Josh Leon an Associate Director at Davis Coffer Lyons said: “La Taverna is one of the oldest family-owned restaurants in Windsor and a much loved local fixture. The landlord whose family also ran the restaurant is retiring and needs a good income. The Real Greek has a good track record and an experienced and very well regarded management team who have been behind some of the most successful businesses in the last 10-20 years.
