Two Clapham Freeholds for Sale

March 21, 2016

Specialist leisure agents Davis Coffer Lyons has been instructed to handle the freehold sale of two well-positioned London pubs, The Artesian Well and the Lost Society, both on Wandsworth Road, Clapham. On behalf of the vendor, Golfrate, freehold offers of £2.75 million and £1.5 million respectively are invited for the properties which are being offered either individually or as a pair.

Both are substantial freehold venues arranged over ground, first and second floors, available with vacant possession. The location is within walking distance of Wandsworth Railway Station and Clapham Common Underground Station. Clapham Common and Battersea Arts Centre are also in the vicinity, as are numerous independent leisure and retail premises.

Paul Tallentyre, Executive Director, Pubs & Bars at Davis Coffer Lyons, said, “As two large three storey building in an affluent and much sought after residential area, the pubs also present a substantial development opportunity subject to planning.

“So far in 2016 we have already seen a great deal of property activity in Wandsworth, with a wealth of new operators coming to the area including City Pub Co West’s acquisition of the Althorp in Wandsworth Common from Gareth Lloyd-Jones. This is testament to the fantastic area, thriving demographic, and interesting range of businesses operating in the vicinity.”

Debenhams, Pret A Manger, Byron and Frankie & Bennys have all recently secured space at the Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth, owned by Metro Shopping Fund, the retail joint venture between clients advised by Delancey and Land Securities.
