Westfield London Welcomes Chinatown Bakery & Tsujiri
July 24, 2026

Chinatown Bakery – the London-born bakery concept celebrated for its authentic Hong Kong–style buns, pastries and cakes – has launched its sixth site at Westfield London, marking a new milestone in the brand’s ambitious plan to open 20 sites across the UK within five years.
Founded in 2012 in Newport Place, at the heart of London’s Chinatown, Chinatown Bakery now trades from 6 London locations. Its product range is rooted in the recipes and techniques of Hong Kong’s iconic bakeries. Signatures include its Taiyaki fish-shaped ice cream cones, freshly made roast pork buns, pineapple buns and silky Hong Kong egg tarts.
The Westfield London launch showcases the results of a comprehensive re-brand designed to honour the company’s Chinatown roots while broadening its appeal to a wider audience, offering, “A Taste of Hong Kong in Every Bake.”
“Opening at Westfield London is a proud moment for us,” said Simon Tang, co-founder of Chinatown Bakery. “We started with one small shop in Chinatown twelve years ago, staying true to the flavours and techniques of the Hong Kong bakeries that inspired us. To now share that with the millions of visitors who come through Westfield each year — while keeping every bake as authentic as the first — is exactly the kind of growth we set out to achieve.”
Chinatown Bakery’s new 1,100 sq ft store is located close to the entrance to external dining and leisure street Southern Terrace. The launch follows another recent opening in the on-trend Asian bakery and dessert category at the centre, with authentic Japanese matcha dessert and tea house concept Tsujiri having opened a new 535 sq ft kiosk.
DCL is proud to act on behalf of Westfield on F&B and leisure lettings.
