Next week we’ll start opening the doors of our DCL advent calendar… a festive round-up featuring some of our favourite places, plates and projects from 2023 – a celebration which we hope will provide inspiration for where to eat, drink and be merry, if not in the run up to Christmas, then at a leisurely pace next year! ...

The news is out! Jeremy King has announced that he will be re-launching “London’s last grande-dame restaurant” Simpsons in the Strand as part of his return to the capital’s restaurant scene.

One of London’s oldest restaurants, the 20,000 sq ft venue dates back to 1828. We were charged by the owners of The Savoy to source a suitable operator to take the historic site into the future, and we couldn’t be happier to see it in such accomplished and highly regarded hands.

King told The Times that it “will be more of a big-theatre brasserie but one that will very much hark on its tradition. I want people to walk in there and say, ‘Oh good, they haven’t changed it’, although it will have changed.”
