Debut Restaurant Secured for Great British Menu Winner Nikita Pathakhi in Off-Market Acquisition

May 6, 2026

Acting on behalf of Great British Menu 2026 and MasterChef: The Professionals 2022 winner Nikita Pathakji, Davis Coffer Lyons has completed the off-market acquisition of the former gastropub Brooke on Clapham’s Abbeville Road for her debut restaurant, Maai.

Launching on 20th May, MAAI is a modern British restaurant created by Nikita alongside her mother Rima and sister Isha. Rooted in family and shaped by years of hosting sold-out supper clubs, MAAI brings together seasonal British produce with influences from across the globe, offering a menu designed for sharing in a warm, considered setting.

Named after Rima, MAAI, which means Mum, is a reflection of the family’s way of cooking and hosting, shaped as much by instinct as it is by experience.  The menu will draw on Nikita’s classical training while cooking in a way that feels open and personal. Nikita has been quietly perfecting her craft for over 10 years, with seasonal British produce underpinning the menu, it is layered with influences from her heritage and wider travels across the globe.

Dishes are built for sharing, encouraging a style of eating that is relaxed but considered, although a tasting menu is also available.  On Sundays, the menu will feature a roast dish inspired by Nikita’s main course on Great British Menu, offering a refined take on a classic weekend favourite.

Alongside the food, Isha has created a unique cocktail programme, influenced by her Master’s in chemical engineering, with creativity, warmth, and instinct, designing a menu that is both delicious and playful.

Commenting on the acquisition DCL Executive Director Paul Tallentyre commented “Well-located sites in affluent neighbourhoods remain sought-after, which was reflected in the premium paid.  We were pleased to secure the lease in this popular location off-market, and we have no doubt that Maai will be well received by the local audience, as well as drawing from further afield”.
