MJMK to lauch Havana-inspired La Rampa in Fitzrovia’s Market Place

June 29, 2021

Fast-growing restaurant group MJMK has taken the former Sweet Chick restaurant at 7-8 Market Place, close to Oxford Circus, to launch Cuban-inspired bar La Rampa.

It joins the group’s Bar Bolivar, recently launched in Canary Wharf, in “paying homage to Havana”, with a drinks menu by lauded former Sager & Wilde bartender Marcis Dzelzainis, and a small plate-focussed food menu that takes influences from the entire Central American region overseen by Zijun Meng and Ana Goncalves of Tata Eatery.

La Rampa opens in August on the site of the former Sweet Chick restaurant, which extends to 4,211 sq ft.  The opportunity attracted a good deal of interest due in part its extensive external seating in a popular piazza style location.

Davis Coffer Lyons and Bruce Gillingham Pollard acted on behalf of landlord Great Portland Estates.
