May 7, 2024
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has announced plans to revitalise its London headquarters on Great George Street, providing RICS members with a state-of-the-art members’ lounge complete with meeting rooms and collaborative workspaces, as well as offering a new bar and brasserie on the ground floor.
The new brasserie will be delivered in partnership with catering and events management firm Searcys and named ‘Searcys Bar and Brasserie at Surveyors House’. High quality food and drink options will be available and RICS members will be able to enjoy an exclusive discount at this venue as well as Searcys’ additional eight venues in London.
The RICS’ prime central London location is available free of charge for members to use, making it an ideal place for working in between London meetings. As part of the RICS’ commitment to sustainably maintain their beautiful, historic listed HQ building, they are also partnering with Searcys to manage meeting spaces on other floors within the building for commercial events to third parties under the name ‘Surveyors House at RICS Westminster’, with members able to receive a substantial discount from commercial rates of bookings.
RICS CEO Justin Young said “Our central London space at Great George Street is a huge asset to RICS, in a superb location and surrounded by stunning views. We are delighted to be announcing this investment in its future. Our members will be able to use these modern, new and free facilities whenever they need and can take advantage of discounted food and drinks. Similarly, they will be able to book other meeting rooms through Searcys at concessionary rates. This kind of partnership is standard practice for professional bodies. It helps us unlock the full potential of our buildings and protect our future.”
Tina Paillet FRICS added “With our exciting plans for Great George Street, the RICS London headquarters is set to become a vibrant hub for surveyors from Britain and beyond. When our new facilities open in autumn, members will be able to work, meet, socialise and eat in one location, with a professional base in the heart of London. Whether you’re popping in from across town, or from the other side of the world, I look forward to welcoming you very soon.”
DCL acted on behalf of RICS in sourcing a new hospitality partner for 11 Great George Street. The accommodation, extending to 4,300 sq ft, was previously occupied by Roux at Parliament Square.
