Market Taverns Acquires The Loose Box in Victoria
December 23, 2019
Market Taverns Co has acquired The Loose Box on Horseferry Road in Victoria, marking its seventh site in the Capital.
The leasehold Westminster pub was acquired from Moonshine Bars for a premium. The passing rent on the 20 year lease is £160,000 per annum. The substantial pub occupiers the ground floor of the building and is free of tie.
The news follows the announcement earlier this month by Market Taverns that it would acquire The Cleveland Arms in Chilworth Street, Paddington for sixth London site. Other pubs in its portfolio include: The Market Porter in Borough Market; The Perseverance in Bloomsbury; The Lady Ottoline also in Bloomsbury; The Carpenters Arms in Marylebone; and The Huntsman & Hounds in Elephant and Castle.
Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) advised the purchaser Market Taverns on the acquisition of The Loose Box.
Paul Tallentyre, Head of Pubs and Bars at DCL said, “The Loose Box already trades very successfully in the area attracting local businesses, tourists and local crowds. It is a contemporary business which will be very adaptable for Market Taverns’ business model.“
“There has been a lot of market activity in Victoria recently including the new flagship site for Munich Cricket Club which DCL also acquired; as well as the new Pizza Pilgrims, Ivy Collection, and Jason Atherton’s first theatre bar – Pavlova’s – at the Victoria Palace Theatre.”
