Clapham Favourite Frieda B Sold

One of Clapham’s most acclaimed independent cocktail bars has been sold by leisure agents Davis Coffer Lyons.

The Free of Tie Leasehold premises has been purchased by Matt McClymont. The 1,248sqft sq ft bar was offered to the market at a guide price £160,000 and is held on the remainder of a 15 year free of tie lease from December 2000 at a new passing rent of £41,500 per annum.

McClymont, who plans to operate the business in its existing guise, was formerly of Eclectic Bars, operator of Embargo, Sakura and Lola Lo, and is now actively looking for further sites in premium areas of London as well as Cambridge, Oxford and Brighton.

Frieda B was conceived by Swedish/Italian businessman Patrick Mina in late 2005, and soon became a popular local hangout renowned for its friendly service, imaginative cocktails and DJ nights. The two storey bar benefits from a 2am licence.
