DCL Brings The Botanist to Bath

January 10, 2019

New World Trading Company (NWTC), the Chris Hill-led group, has agreed a deal to bring its The Botanist brand to Bath, in a deal brokered by specialist property agents Davis Coffer Lyons.

The company plans to transform the former Burger & Lobster site, which was house in the Grade II-listed Octagon Hall in the city centre’s Milsom Place into a bar. The Octagon Hall was built in the 18th century and it’s thought the building was completed at some point between 1766-1767.

The currently 21-strong group, which plans to add six sites per year going forward, has further openings lined up in Coventry, Watford, Cardiff and Exeter.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of the landlord, Janus Henderson Investors. Rob Meadows, Agency Director, said “This agency and consulting advice is a great example of re-working a large leisure space vacated by a former tenant on a new lease basis. It was part of a complicated tri-partite deal but it shows that there are tenants who are active in the 8,000 sq ft plus leisure market in quality towns and cities.”
