Drafthouse Secures Flagship Site in Fitzrovia

April 23, 2012

Draft House, the London-based pub concept founded by Charlie McVeigh, has secured a flagship site in the capital in Fitzrovia, through Davis Coffer Lyons’ Pubs team.

The four-strong group, which last year secured funding from serial restaurant entrepreneur Luke Johnson, is to open on the site of the Northumberland Arms on the corner of Charlotte Street and Goodge Street in early July.

Spread over two floors, the site will feature the traditional Draft House offer.

The company, which opened its fourth site this month on Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, aims to operate six sites by the end of this year and up to 15 by 2015, before a possible move outside the capital.

“We’ll grow to 10 or 15 sites over the next three years, then we’ll look outside London. We feel in control of our own destiny now,” McVeigh told the M&C Report.

Draft House also operates two sites in Battersea and one in Tower Bridge.
