Kingly Club Completes in Carnaby

July 26, 2012

A Soho private members’ club that played host to some of the silver screen’s top actors and one of politics’ biggest scandals has been sold by leisure property advisors Davis Coffer Lyons.

Davis Coffer Lyons sold the lease on behalf of Patrice Gouty, for the 1,100 sq ft Kingly Club within Shaftesbury’s Carnaby Estate, W1 at a passing rent of £52,500 pa. Parisian Patrice, nicknamed as ‘King of Clubs’ – from his days behind London hotspots including China White and Raffles – will now be focusing on his overseas businesses.

The venue has been snapped up by CG Restaurants – owners of Tuttons eatery in the West End, pizza chain Fire & Stone, and the Dirty Martini cocktail bars.

The Kingly Club was formerly the Pinstripe Club, which hosted the likes of Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in the 1960s, and was shut down as a result of the John Profumo/Christine Keeler affair.
