Kingly Court Transformed into Food and Dining Destination

May 29, 2014

Shaftesbury PLC have transformed Carnaby’s iconic Kingly Court into a unique, 1,200 cover food and dining destination in the heart of the West End.

Following a re-design programme Kingly Court has welcomed seven new signings, bringing its total of independent restaurants, cafés, bars and food retailers to fifteen. The three storey food hub features an open air courtyard which allows five ground floor restaurants to offer al-fresco dining; an unexpected twist in bustling central London.

The fifteen restaurants span five international cuisines and will provide accessibly priced dining options, from morning coffee to midnight feast. Newly opened are The Detox Kitchen’s first stand-alone deli; authentic tonkotsu ramen restaurant Shoryu Carnaby; Caribbean inspired The Rum Kitchen Carnaby, chicken and craft beer restaurant Whyte & Brown, fruit and smoothie café Moosh as well as espresso bar Soho Grind. Yoga studio triyoga has also expanded, adding a new health and lifestyle café, Retreat, to the third floor.

New restaurant concepts have been handpicked to reflect Kingly Court’s ethos of vibrant and affordable fare, and will strengthen the offer already provided by existing favourites: Cha Cha Moon, Camellia’s Tea House, Cinnamon Soho, Shampers, Two Floors, Disco, Bittersweet and Wright Brothers Soho which has recently undergone a refit.

The interior of the scheme has been redeveloped and features refreshed signage, intricate pastel painted buildings and the Carnaby Street entrance will be marked by an eye-catching two storey mural. A central seating area with free Wi-Fi has been developed around the courtyard’s tree.

Simon Quayle, Director of Shaftesbury PLC comments: “The development is the latest chapter in Carnaby’s ongoing evolution. The destination has always been at the forefront of everything that is new and different and the food hub is an example of this – a response to gap in the market for a major food destination in Central London.

A further schedule of exciting new openings is set to be announced over the summer of 2014 with Davis Coffer Lyons acting for Shaftesbury.
