The Chinese operator has taken the ground floor and basement unit which was formerly trading as the Ice Pearl, an Ahking Chinese restaurant. A new 20 year FRI lease has been granted at a rent of £100,000 per annum exclusive. The premises comprises approximately 2,800 sq ft, and will seat approximately 100 covers on ground floor and basement.

Dong Yang already successfully runs the New Garden restaurant in Chinatown.

Jonathan Moradoff, Associate Director, Davis Coffer Lyons, said, “This part of London has seen a recent resurgence of interest from restaurateurs, who are keen to be in close proximity to the changes afoot the area such as Crossrail and at Centre Point, earmarked for residential conversion. The new piazza at Central St Giles which offers external seating has also been a huge draw for leisure operators and giving a welcome boost to the area which benefits from a large residential and commercial catchment as well as a high number of students.”

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of the private landlord.
